Every petal here is a chenille stem, shaped and wired by hand. The lilies take the longest - six petals each, ribbed along their length, with the stamens twisted separately and bent out over the centre. They sit against sprays of tiny lavender buds on green stems. It comes wrapped in lilac paper over a white tulle collar and finished with a satin bow, so it can be handed over exactly as it arrives. Roughly 40 cm tall including the wrap. Made to order, so no two are identical and the purple can vary a shade between batches.
Keep it out of direct sunlight - strong light fades dyed chenille over months. Dust it with a soft make-up brush, or a hairdryer on its coolest setting held well back. Never wash it, soak it or press it flat. If a petal loses its shape in transit, open it back out with your fingers; the wire inside is there to be bent.
