The largest and slowest thing we make. A deep pink lotus opens at the centre with a gold worked heart and a strand of pearls dropping into it, under a crescent arch of curled green stems threaded with orchids, small blossoms and an organza butterfly. Lights are set through the arch and down into the base, so the flowers glow individually rather than being lit from one point. The green base is worked as a mound of leaves and holds it upright on its own.
Roughly 35 cm tall and 30 cm across. It takes several days to build, so ask early - especially around a wedding date.
The light runs on a small battery unit inside; ask us to show you where the switch is when it arrives. Dust it with a soft brush or a hairdryer on cool. Keep it away from water entirely - there is electronics under the chenille - and out of direct sun so the colours hold. It is a decorative light, not a reading lamp, and it is not a toy for a small child: the beads and the battery unit are not made to be chewed.
